Abhivyakti 1.0 National Asian Parliamentary Debate Tournament

About the Competition

Abhivyakti 1.0 is the inaugural National Asian Parliamentary Debate Tournament organised by the Seminar, Literary and Debating Society of the Integrated Law Course, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. The tournament aims to provide a national platform for young debaters to develop structured argumentation, critical thinking, research, rebuttal and persuasive advocacy skills.

Debate Format

The competition will follow the 3v3 Asian Parliamentary Debate format. It includes Open and Novice break categories. Cross teams and non-institutional teams are also permitted to participate.

Important Dates

Preliminary Rounds: 10–11 September 2026 – Online

Advanced Rounds: 23 September 2026 – On Campus

Valedictory Ceremony: 24 September 2026

Venue: Maharishi Kanad Bhawan, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi

Eligibility & Delegation

Institutional delegations will follow an N+1 structure, consisting of 3 participants and 1 adjudicator per team. The tournament welcomes cross teams and non-institutional teams as well.

Registration Fee

Non-DU Teams: ₹590 per person, inclusive of GST

DU Teams: ₹500 per person, inclusive of GST

Prize Pool

The tournament offers a total prize pool of ₹70,000, including:

Best Team – ₹25,000

Best Speaker – ₹10,000

Best Adjudicator – ₹10,000

Runner-up Speaker – ₹7,500

Runner-up Adjudicator – ₹7,500

Best Novice Speaker – ₹5,000

Best Subsidised Adjudicator – ₹5,000

Objective

Abhivyakti 1.0 seeks to promote informed discourse, constructive disagreement and rigorous argumentation, while providing participants an opportunity to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions and sharpen their debating and advocacy skills.
