The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) was established by the Government of Assam in 2009 and provides legal education and research opportunities to students and scholars.
The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy and Research (CELAR) functions under NLUJAA and focuses on strengthening environmental law jurisprudence, particularly in the context of environmental concerns in India and the North-Eastern region. CELAR's blog provides a platform for analysis and discussion on contemporary environmental law issues, emerging conflicts, recent judicial decisions and legislative developments.
CELAR, NLUJAA has invited blog submissions on environmental law and related fields. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, meaning there is no fixed submission deadline.
The blog welcomes original and research-oriented contributions addressing contemporary developments and issues within the broader field of environmental law.
Authors may submit articles on, inter alia:
Environmental Policy and Regulation
Climate Change Law
Biodiversity Conservation
Sustainable Development
Pollution Control and Remediation
Environmental Justice
Natural Resource Management
Land Use and Conservation Easements
Environmental Litigation
Corporate Environmental Responsibility
The suggested themes are not exhaustive, and authors may write on any topic falling within the scope of the CELAR Blog.
Submissions may be authored by one or two authors.
The submission must be the original work of the contributor(s).
All submissions are subject to AI and plagiarism screening.
Articles containing AI-generated or plagiarised content beyond the permitted limit may be rejected.
Submissions must not contain offensive, abusive, derogatory or potentially defamatory content.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not violate any applicable law.
Authors must notify the editorial team if they discover any significant error or inaccuracy in their published work and cooperate in correcting or retracting the content where necessary.
Authors must adhere to the following requirements:
File Format: Microsoft Word
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12
Line Spacing: 1.5
Word Limit: 1,000–1,500 words
Longer articles may be considered on a case-by-case basis with the editor's permission.
File name should follow the format: “Title_CELAR Blog”
The author's name and affiliation must not appear anywhere in the manuscript to facilitate anonymous review.
The short title should capture the essence of the article and must not exceed 10 words.
Hyperlinks are preferred over footnotes.
Where sources cannot be hyperlinked, they should be cited using OSCOLA (4th edition).
Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, size 10, single-spaced.
Non-compliance with the prescribed guidelines may result in a longer review period or the manuscript being returned for corrections.
An abstract of 50–100 words is required.
The abstract is to be entered only in the submission form and should not be included in the article manuscript.

Double-Blind Peer Review
The editorial team generally communicates its decision within 10 days. In some cases, the review process may take 14–21 days.
The final decision regarding publication rests with the editorial team, and any relaxation of the submission requirements is at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Selected submissions may be published on the CELAR Blog, providing contributors with an opportunity to engage with contemporary environmental law discourse and showcase their legal research and writing.
