The Moot Court Society, Apex School of Law, Apex University, Jaipur is organising the Judgment Writing Competition as part of Jus Novum – AU Nationwide Law Fest 2026.
The JUS NOVUM Judgment Writing Competition is a national-level competition that gives law students an opportunity to step into the role of a judge and deliver a reasoned judgment based on a Criminal Law problem. The competition tests legal knowledge, research, analytical ability, judicial reasoning, and judgment-writing skills.
Format: Single-round Judgment Writing Competition
Participation: Individual
Subject: Criminal Law
Reading & Analysis: 90 minutes
Judgment Writing: 60 minutes
Language: English or Hindi
Both phases will take place on the same date.
Students currently enrolled in:
LL.B. programmes
Five-Year Integrated Law Courses such as B.A. LL.B. or equivalent
LL.M. programmes
Participants must be enrolled in a recognised institution in India.
🏆 Winner: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
🥈 Runner-Up: ₹3,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
All Participants: E-Certificate of Participation
Total Cash Prize: ₹8,000
₹600 per participant
Accommodation is not included and is available separately at additional charges.
The competition itself is conducted in a single-day format, with the reading and judgment-writing phases taking place on the same date.
