About the Roundtable
The 2nd South Asian Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence & Law (SARAIL), 2026 is the flagship international AI-law dialogue organized under the 3rd South Asian Global Intellectual Property Summit, 2026. This prestigious event is hosted by the Centre for Development of Intellectual Property and Research (CDIPR), Naovina Development of Intellectual Property and Research Foundation, in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
Building upon the success of its inaugural 2025 edition, the 2026 Roundtable seeks to create a truly global platform for examining the rapidly evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence, law, intellectual property, digital governance, human rights, innovation, and development.

Participants are invited to submit papers engaging with the following themes:
- AI Regulation & Emerging Legal Architectures: Global standards, regional approaches, and compliance.
- Generative AI, Copyright & Intellectual Property: Fair use, authorship, and IP protection in the age of GenAI.
- AI, Fundamental Rights & Digital Constitutionalism: Privacy, bias, non-discrimination, and human rights.
- AI Liability, Accountability & AI Safety: Apportioning risk, legal personhood, and safety frameworks.
- AI, Data Governance & Digital Sovereignty: Cross-border data flows, localization, and sovereignty.
- AI, Labour, Economy & Development: Job displacement, economic growth, and the global South perspective.
- AI in Sectoral Governance: Healthcare, finance, defense, and judicial systems.
- AI Agents, Autonomous Systems & The Next Technological Frontier: Legal implications of agentic and autonomous systems.
