
Legal Internship Opportunity at Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL)
The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) is inviting applications from law students for its internship programme. Applicants can indicate their preferred month of internship while submitting their applications.
About the Centre for Trade and Investment Law
The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) was established in 2016 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).
CTIL’s primary objective is to provide sound and rigorous legal analysis on matters concerning international trade and investment law to the Government of India and other governmental agencies.
About the CTIL Legal Internship
CTIL has opened applications for its legal internship programme for interested students. The internship provides students with an opportunity to engage with contemporary issues in international economic law, international trade law, investment law, public international law, and WTO law.
Applicants can indicate their preferred month of internship during the application process.
Eligibility
The internship is open to students who:
Are currently pursuing a law degree.
Have a keen interest in international economic law.
Additional Information for Interns
An ideal CTIL intern is expected to demonstrate interest in and exposure to the fundamentals of:
International Trade Policy
International Economic Law
Public International Law
WTO Law
Participation in national or international moot court competitions, conferences, paper presentations, or publications is desirable.
Selected interns are advised to undertake background reading before joining CTIL, particularly on WTO law and international economic law.
Each intern is assigned a mentor on the first day of the internship. Interns are required to attend a weekly meeting with their mentors to brief them about their assigned tasks and progress.
Towards the conclusion of the internship, interns are also required to make group presentations on contemporary topics of international economic law.
Subject to compliance with the applicable rules and satisfactory completion of assigned work, interns will be awarded an internship certificate.
