Chambers of Manuj Sabharwal is a New Delhi-based litigation and advisory practice founded by Mr. Manuj Sabharwal, Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India and a qualified Chartered Accountant, with over 20 years of experience in tax litigation, corporate advisory, and cross-border dispute resolution.
The Chambers provides legal representation and strategic counsel across areas including income tax and international taxation, transfer pricing, insolvency and bankruptcy (IBC), company law, arbitration, competition law, and commercial litigation. The practice regularly handles matters before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and specialised forums including the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting writ petitions, Special Leave Petitions (SLPs), appeals, applications, replies, and briefs.
- Conducting independent legal research using SCC Online, Taxmann, and allied databases.
- Appearing before ITAT, High Courts, and trial courts under supervision, including matters relating to tax prosecution and compounding.
- Assisting with case strategy, client conferences, and counsel briefings.
- The role provides scope for independent arguments and appearances with experience and growth.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Enrolment with a State Bar Council is required (Enrolment with the Bar Council of Delhi is preferred, but not mandatory).
- 2 to 5 years of post-enrolment experience (0-5 PQE range).
- Prior exposure to direct tax, commercial litigation, or writ practice is an advantage.
- Strong legal fundamentals and a genuine interest in specialising in tax litigation.
