About the Opportunity / Organizer
The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body established under the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006, under the aegis of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As the apex regulator for food safety in India, FSSAI offers a unique internship program designed to provide young legal talent with hands-on experience in regulatory affairs, policy formulation, and administrative governance.
Key Responsibilities / Internship Scope
Interns will be assigned to specific divisions at FSSAI (HQ) based on their academic background and technical expertise. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in legal research, compliance monitoring, and drafting related to food safety regulations and policies.
- Working on assigned projects touching upon food and nutrition management processes.
- Collaborating with division officers on regulatory legal enforcement and administrative matters.
Note: Interns must bring their own laptops. FSSAI provides working space and internet facilities but does not cover travel, boarding, or lodging expenses.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Must be a student currently pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate Degree (Bachelor of Law - LL.B. / Master of Law - LL.M.) from a recognized institute in India or abroad.
- This specific role is available exclusively for FSSAI Headquarters in New Delhi.
Stipend, Perks & Awards
- Stipend: A stipend of ₹10,000/- for the internship period will be granted to deserving interns based on attendance, reporting officer assessment, and final committee evaluation.
- Certificate: Issued by the Human Resource Division, FSSAI (HQ) upon successful completion and review of the final report/presentation.
