About the Opportunity / Organizer
The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body established under the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006, under the aegis of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As the apex regulatory body ensuring food safety and standards compliance nationwide, FSSAI offers a structured Internship Scheme to provide law students with hands-on exposure to food regulation, regulatory compliance, and food safety administration.
Key Responsibilities / Internship Scope
Interns will be attached to key Divisions at FSSAI Headquarters in New Delhi based on their academic qualifications and assigned specific project work. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in regulatory legal drafting, compliance review, and research under the Food Safety & Standards Act.
- Analyzing administrative and statutory processes governing food regulation in India.
- Executing assigned research projects relating to regulatory food and nutrition management processes.
- Preparing comprehensive final reports and presentations for evaluation by the Project Evaluation Committee.
Note: Interns must bring their own laptops. FSSAI provides working space, internet facilities, and required resources, but does not provide lodging, boarding, or travel allowance.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Must be actively pursuing a full-time Law degree (LL.B / LL.M) from a recognized university or institute in India or abroad.
- This legal internship opportunity is strictly designated for FSSAI Headquarters, New Delhi.
Stipend, Perks & Awards
- Stipend: A stipend of ₹10,000/- for the entire internship duration will be awarded to deserving interns based on attendance, reporting officer assessment, and report evaluation.
- Certificate: Issued by the Human Resource Division, FSSAI (HQ) upon successful completion, report submission, and favorable recommendation.
- Duration: Minimum of 02 months, extendable up to a maximum of 06 months.
