About the Opportunity / Organizer
An Australian migration law practice led by Justin K. Rickard is hiring a Remote Legal Assistant/Junior Paralegal in India or offshore. Justin K. Rickard is a senior Australian lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia, with over 30 years of specialised experience in Australian immigration law. The practice provides external Special Counsel advisory, refusal auditing, and complex merits review services (including ART appeals) to migration agencies across Australia and India.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior management to streamline client file intake, manage outreach tracking, organise migration documentation, and support pre-lodgment legal assessments.
- Prepare, organise, and audit client files for preliminary legal assessments and refusal reviews.
- Maintain and update B2B agency outreach and client tracking master files using Google Sheets / CRM.
- Assist with scheduling executive briefings, sending professional follow-ups, and managing inbox communications.
- Compile statutory criteria, policy references, and evidentiary checklists for visa submissions and ART appeal briefs.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B / B.A. LL.B), or a final-year law student.
- Paralegal qualification is preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English with professional business communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and scheduling tools (Calendly, Zoom).
- Interest or prior exposure to Australian, UK, or Commonwealth immigration law is an advantage.
