Role Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a law firm lawyer with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) specialized in domestic and cross-border Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). In this role, you will be at the forefront of high-stake strategic investments, corporate restructuring, divestitures, and joint ventures, collaborating directly with senior business leaders, investment teams, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Execution: Lead and manage full transaction lifecycles, including conducting and reviewing legal due diligence, transaction structuring, and drafting and negotiating core transactional agreements (SPAs, SHAs, asset purchase agreements, joint venture agreements).
- Advisory & Risk Assessment: Provide timely, commercially sound legal advice on corporate governance, statutory compliances, and regulatory frameworks impacting M&A activity in India and global jurisdictions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal business development teams, finance, tax, and strategy divisions to align legal strategies with long-term corporate objectives.
- External Counsel Management: Coordinate with and supervise top-tier external legal advisors to ensure cost-efficient, high-quality execution of deals.
Eligibility & Candidate Profile
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of solid, hands-on post-qualification experience (PQE) focusing specifically on core M&A transactions.
- Background: Candidates must currently be practicing with or have substantial recent experience at a recognized, top-tier law firm.
- Education: LL.B. degree from a premier law school; an LL.M. from a reputed Indian or international university is strongly preferred.
- Skill Set: Exemplary contract drafting, negotiation, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
