About the Opportunity
Morgan Stanley is inviting applications for the position of Vice President – BCU Docs Negotiator within its Fixed Income Division, Institutional Securities Documentation (ISD) team in Mumbai.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate master agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents including CDEAs and DRAs.
- Handle documentation for OTC derivatives, repurchase, and stock loan transactions.
- Manage client negotiations and related projects to ensure timely execution.
- Review legal documentation to determine capacity and authority to enter into transactions.
- Identify documentation requirements for clients trading securities or OTC derivatives.
- Conduct due diligence and documentation reviews.
- Participate in global projects involving risk management and regulatory initiatives.
- Liaise with clients, business teams, external counsel, Risk, Operations, Tax, Credit, and other stakeholders.
- Analyse and present negotiation issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain internal systems, documentation databases, and project trackers.
- Handle signing arrangements, document filing, and dispatch following negotiations.
- Provide mentoring, training, and coaching to junior team members.
- Respond to queries relating to master documentation from various departments.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Law graduate with experience or knowledge of ISDA Master Agreement and/or other derivatives documentation.
- Strong understanding of legal documentation for derivatives and financing transactions.
- Ability to lead and manage teams while supporting professional development.
- International work experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (proficiency in English is mandatory).
- Strong quantitative skills and interest in business, economics, and law.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Interest in technology and systems development; organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient.
- GMRA or GMSLA negotiation experience is useful but not essential.
