Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Content Specialist, you will bridge the gap between complex legal frameworks and practical business applications. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Regulatory Monitoring: Track and analyze global privacy and data protection developments, including GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, US state laws, LGPD, PIPEDA, and PDPA.
- Content Creation: Draft high-quality legal content, including regulation explainers, jurisdiction guides, compliance checklists, legal updates, and comprehensive whitepapers.
- Product & Marketing Alignment: Review marketing and product content for legal accuracy, and translate regulatory obligations into actionable product requirements for engineering teams.
- SEO & AI Search Integration: Collaborate with SEO and AI search teams on generative engine optimization (GEO), schema markup, and citation-focused content.
- Compliance Support: Address customer-facing compliance queries and maintain key legal documents such as privacy policies, terms of service, DPAs, and vendor agreements.
- Brand Representation: Represent CookieYes through bylined articles, webinars, and expert industry commentary.
Eligibility & Requirements
We are seeking candidates who possess a strong legal foundation combined with exceptional communication skills:
- Education: LL.B. or an equivalent law degree from a recognized institution. Bar Council enrollment is welcome but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, compliance function, or legal publishing role.
- Writing Excellence: Demonstrable writing ability that goes beyond traditional pleadings and contracts, with the ability to write accurately for non-legal and business audiences.
- Tech & AI Savviness: Fluency with AI tools for research, drafting, and summarization, coupled with a rigorous ability to verify citations and legal holdings against primary sources.
- Research Discipline: A strong habit of relying on primary sources and verifying whether legal guidance has been superseded.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of (or intention to pursue) CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or CIPM certifications.
- Prior experience at a SaaS, privacy technology, or legal technology company.
- Experience drafting or negotiating DPAs and SaaS agreements.
- Familiarity with SEO, GEO, traditional search, AI search, and AI Overviews.
- Additional language abilities relevant to European jurisdictions.
