About the Opportunity
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya, is inviting applications for four Research Fellow positions under the sixth cohort of the prestigious P. A. Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research.
The fellowship provides an exceptional platform for researchers to immerse themselves in the socio-economic and governance landscape of Meghalaya, a Sixth Schedule State, facilitating high-impact interventions through rigorous legal and policy analysis alongside senior state policymakers.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
- Engage directly with senior policymakers and nodal officers of the Government of Meghalaya to address complex legal and policy challenges.
- Conduct in-depth research, legislative drafting, and policy evaluation to support governance initiatives.
- Receive joint mentorship from designated Nodal Officers of the Government of Meghalaya and faculty experts from NLSIU.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- NLSIU Alumni: Graduates of NLSIU from B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., or Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) programs.
- Meghalaya Domiciles: Domicile citizens of Meghalaya holding a recognized law degree from any university.
Stipend, Perks & Duration
- Monthly Stipend: INR 60,000 per month
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): INR 10,000 per month
- Duration: 12 months (extendable based on performance)
- Work Mode & Location: On-site in Meghalaya
Selection Process & How to Apply
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview round. Upon selection, formal terms of reference will be issued by the Government of Meghalaya.
