The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, established in 1987, is India's pioneer institution for legal education and research. NLSIU has held the 1st rank among law universities in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for eight consecutive years. The University invites applications for five (5) permanent Professor (Law) positions across major subject areas in law.
Key Responsibilities / Competition Scope
Selected faculty members will lead teaching, research, curriculum design, and academic leadership across various foundational and specialized legal subjects, including:
- Contracts & Property Law
- Criminal Law, Torts & Civil Procedure
- Constitutional Law & Administrative Law
- Intellectual Property Rights, Company Law & Labour Law
- Public International Law, Human Rights & Family Law
- Jurisprudence, Environmental Law & Taxation Law
- Alternative Dispute Resolution, Conflict of Laws & Financial Sector Regulation
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Candidates must meet essential qualifications and experience prescribed in Sections I and II.1 of Appendix A of Notification No. 15 – Professor (Law).
- Qualifications must be obtained from recognized universities or institutions.
- Foreign nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are eligible to apply (subject to required visa approvals).
- Applicants working in Government departments, PSUs, or autonomous bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
Stipend, Perks & Awards
- Pay Level: Level 14 under the VII Central Pay Commission.
- Nature of Appointment: Permanent post with a 2-year probation period.
- Vacancies: 5 Posts (3 Unreserved, 2 Scheduled Caste).
- Retirement Age: 65 years.
