The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) was established in 1987 as a pioneer in legal education and has maintained its rank as India's premier law university (NIRF Rank 1 for eight consecutive years). NLSIU invites applications from exceptionally well-qualified scholars and academicians dedicated to teaching, research, and institutional leadership for 5 permanent positions of Professor (Law) (3 Unreserved, 2 Scheduled Caste).
Key Responsibilities / Subject Areas
Selected faculty members will engage in academic instruction, legal scholarship, curriculum development, and institutional service across key areas of law, including:
- Contracts, Property, and Torts
- Constitutional Law and Administrative Law
- Criminal Law and Civil Procedure
- Intellectual Property Rights and Company Law
- Labour Law and Financial Sector Regulation
- Public International Law and Human Rights
- Family Law and Jurisprudence
- Environmental Law, Taxation Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution
- Conflict of Laws
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Qualifications as prescribed in Sections I and II.1 of Appendix A of Notification No. 15 – Professor (Law) from recognized universities/institutions.
- Essential minimum qualifications and experience required as per university/UGC standards.
- Foreign nationals, OCI, NRI, and PIO candidates are eligible to apply (subject to requisite visa clearances).
- Candidates serving in Government/PSUs/Autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Compensation & Nature of Appointment
- Pay Scale: Pay Level 14 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).
- Appointment Nature: Permanent tenure until the age of superannuation (65 years), subject to confirmation after a two-year probationary period.
