About the Organizer
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free legal services to the weaker sections of society and to organize Lok Adalats for the amicable settlement of disputes.
About the Opportunity
NALSA offers a full-time, on-site internship programme for law students across India. This programme aims to acquaint young law students with the internal workings of NALSA by providing hands-on experience in various specialized areas of legal aid and public interest legal services, thereby promoting access to justice.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
- Engage in hands-on work and research across specialized legal service domains.
- Travel locally to visit courts and public offices as mandated by assigned tasks.
- Follow NALSA office timings from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday through Saturday, with holidays on 2nd and 4th Saturdays).
- Submit a comprehensive internship work report at the conclusion of the programme.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Students actively pursuing a 3-Year LL.B Course or 5-Year Integrated Law Course from any recognized university, college, or institution.
- Preference is given to students in their 2nd/3rd year of 3-Year LL.B or 4th/5th year of 5-Year LL.B.
- Must possess a laptop for smooth execution of internship tasks.
- Mandatory 90% attendance requirement (candidates are advised not to apply during their college examinations).
Stipend, Perks & Certificate
- Stipend: Unpaid (No stipend, TA/DA, or remuneration is provided; accommodation must be arranged by the intern).
- Certification: A formal Certificate of Internship is awarded upon successful completion, subject to 90% attendance and approval of the Member Secretary, NALSA.
