Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, is seeking a highly accomplished legal or employment relations professional for the role of India Workplace Practices Lead within their Asia Pacific (APAC) Human Resources Centre of Excellence. Based in Gurugram under a hybrid work model, this role reports directly to the APAC Workplace Practices Director and offers a premier opportunity to shape organizational workplace culture, regulatory compliance, and employee relations strategies across India and the broader APAC region.
Role Overview
As the India Workplace Practices Lead, you will act as a critical pillar in safeguarding workplace integrity and driving fair, empathetic, and legally compliant workplace practices. You will lead high-stakes investigations, collaborate with internal employment counsel, and utilize cutting-edge methodologies—including AI pattern recognition—to identify systemic risks and enhance corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Investigations: Conduct end-to-end, thorough, objective, and timely investigations into complex workplace issues and employee relations matters.
Legal & Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with internal employment counsel, compliance teams, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to resolve sensitive disputes and mitigate organizational risk.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure continuous alignment with evolving Indian labor laws, employment legislation, and APAC compliance standards.
Process & Policy Innovation: Drive continuous improvements in ER frameworks, draft organizational policies, and leverage AI evidence analysis tools for proactive pattern recognition.
Preventive Capability Building: Design and execute preventive ER strategies, manager training programs, and awareness sessions to cultivate a culture of compliance and respect.
Regional Reach: Support cross-border investigations and strategic HR projects across the APAC region as required.
Eligibility & Candidate Profile
Experience: 10+ years of overall professional experience, with at least 4–5 years spent handling complex investigations and managing senior stakeholders.
Educational & Professional Background: A legal background (LL.B. or equivalent) or extensive experience in labor laws and legal HR policy drafting is strongly preferred.
Tech-Savviness: Familiarity with AI tools for evidence analysis and pattern recognition is highly valued.
Core Competencies: Exceptional critical thinking, empathy, emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and a proven track record of influencing senior leadership.
