About the Journal & Opportunity
The NMIMS Student Law Review is the flagship law journal of SVKM’s NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, Mumbai. The Journal is dedicated to cultivating a culture of rigorous academic research and scholarly discourse. Submissions adopting an interdisciplinary lens and critically engaging with contemporary legal issues are highly encouraged for Volume IX.
Categories of Submissions
- Long Articles: 5,000 – 8,000 words (Comprehensive analysis of contemporary legal issues).
- Short Articles: 3,000 – 5,000 words (In-depth study of specific legal issues).
- Case Notes & Comments: 1,500 – 3,000 words (Critical assessment of recent/landmark judicial pronouncements or legislations).
- Book Reviews: 2,000 – 4,000 words (Crisp review of recently published books on legal themes).
Themes & Scope
Submissions must align with one of the following major legal themes (sub-themes are indicative and flexible):
- Business Law: Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Competition/Antitrust Law, Banking & Securities, Taxation, Labour & Commercial Law.
- Intellectual Property Law: Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, IP & Emerging Tech, Trade Secrets, IP Enforcement.
- Constitutional Law: Fundamental Rights, Federalism, Judicial Review, Constitutional Interpretation, Electoral Laws.
- Criminal Law: Criminal Procedure & Evidence, Economic Crimes, Cyber Crime, Criminal Justice & Human Rights.
Submission & Formatting Guidelines
- Font & Layout: Times New Roman, Main Body: Size 12, 1.5 Line Spacing, Justified. Footnotes: Size 10, 1.0 Line Spacing.
- Document Format: Submissions must be made in
.docxformat only via email. - Plagiarism & AI Threshold: Manuscripts must be submitted with Plagiarism and AI reports demonstrating under 10% similarity (preferably generated via Turnitin).
- Co-authorship: In case of co-authorship, both authors must be CC'd on the submission email.
