About the Organizer

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, established in 2010 by the State Assembly of Jharkhand, is a premier National Law University admitting students through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The University offers 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. programmes and is recognised for its focus on legal education and research.

The opportunity is organised by the Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR), NUSRL Ranchi, a centre dedicated to advancing scholarship and policy-oriented research in labour and employment law.

About the Opportunity

The Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR) has invited chapter submissions for its forthcoming edited volume titled:

"Transforming Labour Jurisprudence in India: Codification, Compliance, and the Changing Paradigm of Workers' Welfare."

The edited book seeks original, empirical, policy-oriented, and analytical research examining India's evolving labour law framework, particularly after the introduction of the four Labour Codes replacing numerous legacy labour legislations.

The publication intends to examine doctrinal, legislative, comparative, constitutional, and implementation challenges concerning:

  • Industrial relations

  • Social security

  • Occupational hygiene

  • Workplace health and safety

  • Wages

  • Workplace harassment

  • Workers' welfare

  • Regulatory compliance

The volume aims to serve as an authoritative reference for:

Submission Guidelines & Formatting

Stage 1 – Abstract / Proposal

Authors must submit:

  • 500–700-word abstract

  • Clear thesis statement

  • Methodological framework

  • Foundational references

  • 100–150-word author biography

  • Current institutional affiliation/professional designation

Stage 2 – Full Chapter

Selected authors shall be invited to submit:

  • 6,000–8,000-word full chapter

  • Word count inclusive of footnotes

Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Main Text: 12 pt

  • Section Headings: 14 pt (Bold)

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Citation Style: OSCOLA

  • Footnotes are mandatory and shall be the exclusive mode of citation.

Originality & Academic Integrity

  • Only original and unpublished work will be accepted.

  • Simultaneous submissions are strictly prohibited.

  • All submissions will undergo plagiarism screening in accordance with the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018.

  • Maximum permissible similarity index: 10%, excluding:

    • Bibliography

    • Properly cited quotations

    • Standard statutory text
