About the Organizer

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, is a National Law University established in 2005 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate legal education and is fully funded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

About the Journal

The RMLNLU Law Review is an annual peer-reviewed journal published by the Journal Committee of RMLNLU. The journal aims to encourage scholarly discourse on contemporary legal issues and runs parallel to the RMLNLU Law Journal on Communications, Media, Entertainment and Technology (CMET). Volume XVII marks the seventeenth edition of the journal, with manuscripts undergoing review by both the Editorial Board and an Advisory Board comprising academicians, advocates, and legal professionals.

Eligibility

The journal accepts original and unpublished submissions from:

  • Law students

  • Academicians

  • Researchers

  • Legal professionals

  • Authors from India and abroad

Categories and Word Limits

  • Articles: 5,000–7,000 words

  • Essays: 4,000–5,000 words

  • Case Notes/Comments: 2,000–3,000 words

  • Book Reviews: 2,000–3,000 words

The prescribed word limits exclude footnotes and the abstract.

Review Process

  • The journal follows a three-stage rigorous review process.

  • Members of the Advisory Board actively participate in the review.

  • Authors are informed about the status of their manuscript at every stage of the review process.

Submission Guidelines

Main Text

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font Size: 12 pt

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Alignment: Justified

Footnotes

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font Size: 10 pt

  • Line Spacing: Single

  • Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th Edition)

  • Endnotes and speaking/descriptive footnotes are not permitted.

General Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions may be on any contemporary legal issue.

  • Every submission must include:

    • Abstract of 250–300 words

    • Five keywords

  • Title formatting:

    • Bold

    • Underlined

    • CAPITAL LETTERS

    • Font Size 16

    • Centre aligned

  • Headings:

    • Bold

    • CAPITAL LETTERS

    • Font Size 14

    • Left aligned

  • The manuscript must not contain any information revealing the identity of the author(s).

  • Maximum two authors are permitted for Articles and Essays.

  • Co-authorship is not permitted for Book Reviews and Case Notes/Comments.

  • Maximum plagiarism permitted: 15%.

  • Maximum AI-generated content permitted: 15%. Manuscripts exceeding either limit will be rejected.

Submission Procedure

  • Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  • Email submissions to lawreview.rmlnlu@gmail.com.

  • The file name should contain the name(s) of the author(s).

  • Only one submission per author/team is permitted. If multiple submissions are received, only the first submission will be considered.

  • Email subject line:

    • "Article for Volume XVII"

    • "Essay for Volume XVII"

    • "Case Comment for Volume XVII"

    • "Book Review for Volume XVII", as applicable.

General Instructions

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • A cover letter must be included in the body of the email (separate attachments will not be accepted).

  • The cover letter should contain:

    • Name of author(s)

    • Academic qualifications

    • Designation

    • Name of College/University/Institution

    • Postal address

    • Phone number

    • Email ID

  • The Editorial Board's decision shall be final and binding.

  • The Journal Committee retains the rights relating to publication, editing, reproduction, and copyright of accepted manuscripts.
