26th Kerala Law Academy National Client Consulting Competition 2026

About the Competition

The 26th Kerala Law Academy National Client Consulting Competition 2026 is designed to promote practical understanding of law and the consulting functions involved in legal practice. The competition provides participants with an opportunity to develop their client interviewing, planning, communication and analytical skills.

Competition Format

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid format:

- Virtual Preliminary Round: October 6, 2026

- Offline Advanced Rounds: November 12–14, 2026, at the Kerala Law Academy campus

The qualifying teams from the preliminary round will advance to the offline rounds.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students pursuing 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes at law colleges, law schools and university departments in India recognised by the Bar Council of India.

LL.M. students and students pursuing correspondence courses are not eligible. Multiple teams from the same institution may participate with the required written permission.

Team Composition

Each participating team must consist of two students, who will act as co-counsels. Individual participation is not permitted.

Registration Fees

- Stage 1 – Preliminary Round: ₹3,000 per team

- Stage 2 – Selected Offline Teams: ₹2,500 per team without accommodation

- Stage 2 – With AC Dormitory Accommodation: ₹3,000 per team

Awards and Prizes

The competition offers cash prizes totalling ₹85,000, along with trophies and certificates:

- First Best Team: ₹50,000 + Justice P. Govinda Menon Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy

- Second Best Team: ₹30,000 + Trophy and Certificate of Merit

- Third Best Team: Trophy and Certificate of Merit

- Best Counsel: ₹3,000 + Trophy and Certificate of Merit

- Best Client: ₹2,000 + Trophy and Certificate of Merit

Additional awards are also available for the Second Best Counsel and Second Best Client.

Registration Process

For provisional registration, teams are required to submit their details by September 15, 2026.
