About the Opportunity / Organizer
The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Cell of the School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, is organizing ACCORDO 2.0: Intercollegiate Mediation Competition 2026. Established in 1999 and reaccredited with an 'A++' grade by NAAC, Kristu Jayanti University offers premier legal education through integrated law and postgraduate programmes. The ADR Cell promotes dispute resolution mastery through simulations, workshops, and competitive forums featuring seasoned advocates and certified mediators.
Key Responsibilities / Competition Scope
The competition is structured in a Hybrid Mode to test negotiation dynamics, strategic mediation techniques, and cooperative problem-solving:
- Preliminary Rounds (Virtual): Conducted online on October 15, 2026, across two 30-minute rounds for all registered teams.
- Pre-Quarter Finals & Quarter Finals (Offline): Top 20 teams advance to pre-quarters, and top 8 advance to knock-out quarters (30 minutes each).
- Semi-Finals & Final (Offline): Top 4 teams compete in 45-minute semi-finals, followed by a 60-minute championship round on October 27–28, 2026.
- Confidential Information (CI): Disclosed 15 minutes prior for preliminary rounds and 30 minutes prior for advanced offline rounds.
Eligibility & Team Composition
- Open to bona fide students currently pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year Integrated Law programme recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
- Each team must consist of three members from the same institution: one Mediator and a Mediating Pair (Client and Counsel).
- A maximum of two teams per university/institution may participate. Cross-institutional teams and accompanying coaches are strictly prohibited.
- Participants must present valid College ID cards and a Bonafide Certificate during on-campus verification.
Stipend, Perks & Awards
- Total Prize Pool: ₹75,000
- Best Mediating Pair: ₹30,000
- Best Mediator: ₹15,000
- Runners-Up Mediating Pair: ₹20,000
- Runners-Up Mediator: ₹10,000
- Certificates: Participation certificates awarded to all participating candidates.
- Accommodation: Subsidized dormitory accommodation available at ₹112 per person/night for non-Bengaluru qualifying teams.
How to Apply / Registration Details
- Registration is processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Preliminary Registration Fee: ₹2,000 per team (payable via UPI/Bank transfer following provisional registration).
- Advanced Rounds Fee: Additional ₹3,000 for qualifying teams.
