About the Organizer

Saveetha School of Law, a premier institution committed to excellence in legal education, is organizing the Jus Consilium – III Edition, a prestigious National Client Counselling Competition designed to foster essential advocacy and practical skills among law students across India.

Competition Scope & Guidelines

The competition tests participants on key client-handling skills, simulated legal consultations, and ethical decision-making:

• Core Focus Areas: Client interviewing, legal analysis, effective client communication, ethical considerations, and professional responsibility.
• Substantive Law Topics: Problems may be based on Criminal Law, Civil Law, Contract Law, Family Law, Surrogacy Law, and Succession Law.
• Team Structure: Each team must comprise 2 participants. A maximum of 5 teams from each institution may participate.
• Key Stages: Identifying legal issues, advising clients appropriately, and formulating practical legal solutions within the assigned consultation time.

Eligibility & Criteria

• Open to all Law Colleges, Law Schools, Universities, and Departments of Law recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
• Students pursuing 3-Year or 5-Year LL.B. programmes in any year of study are eligible to register.

Prizes & Awards

• Winner: Trophy, Certificate, and ₹6,000 Cash Prize
• Runner-Up: Trophy, Certificate, and ₹4,000 Cash Prize
• Best Professional Counsel: Trophy and Certificate
