About the Opportunity / Organizer
The Centre for Studies in Legal Theory (CSLT) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur invites scholarly articles for the September Issue of Nyayarth, the official CSLT Newsletter. DNLU is a premier National Law University established in 2018 under the leadership of the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court as Chancellor. Nyayarth serves as a dedicated platform exploring theoretical jurisprudence and its tangible practical implications.
Theme & Sub-Areas
Central Theme: “The Afterlife of Law: What Survives When a Legal Rule Changes?”
The theme invites contributors to critically analyze how legal norms, behaviors, and institutional habits persist beyond formal legislative or judicial change. Indicative sub-themes include:
Normative residue and desuetude
Temporal jurisprudence and transitional justice
Institutional memory and executive habit
Theoretical paradigms of legal change, repeal, and validity
Law and morality
Rights and duties after rule changes
Legal fictions
Obedience, custom, and living law beyond formal authority
Eligibility & Submission Guidelines
Eligibility: Open to law students, academicians, researchers, and legal scholars.
Co-authorship: Permitted up to a maximum of 2 authors per submission.
Word Count: 1,000 to 1,200 words (exclusive of endnotes/references).
Originality: Must be original and unpublished. Similarity index (plagiarism) must not exceed 10%.
Format: Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
Referencing: Hyperlinks are preferred; where sources are unavailable online, adhere strictly to Bluebook (21st Edition) endnotes.
Review Process: Submissions undergo a rigorous three-stage review consisting of plagiarism/AI assessment, clarity review, and substantive editorial evaluation.
Perks & Publication
Selected manuscripts will be published in the September Issue of Nyayarth (CSLT Newsletter), providing high visibility among jurisprudence scholars and academic circuits.
