1st National Moot Court Competition 2026

National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) invites law schools across India to participate in the flagship 1st National Moot Court Competition 2026. Designed to stimulate critical thinking, advanced legal research, and persuasive oral advocacy, this premier competition offers law students an unmatched platform to argue complex contemporary legal issues before distinguished judges, senior advocates, and legal scholars.

About the Competition

The competition focuses on cutting-edge issues at the intersection of Constitutional Law, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Privacy Rights. Participating teams will be challenged to draft comprehensive written memorials and present oral arguments simulating proceedings before the Supreme Court of India.

Eligibility & Team Composition

• Eligibility: Open to all students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree programs from recognized universities/colleges across India.

• Team Composition: Each institution may register a maximum of two teams. A team must consist of 3 members (2 Speakers and 1 Researcher).

Important Dates & Timeline

• Notification & Release of Moot Proposition: March 1, 2026

• Last Date for Registration: April 15, 2026

• Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: April 20, 2026

• Memorial Submission Deadline: May 10, 2026

• Oral Rounds (On-Campus): May 22 – May 24, 2026

Prizes & Awards

• Best Team: Cash Prize of ₹1,00,000 + Winner's Trophy + Internship Opportunities.

• Runner-up Team: Cash Prize of ₹50,000 + Trophy.

• Best Speaker: Cash Prize of ₹20,000 + Certificate of Excellence.

• Best Memorial: Cash Prize of ₹20,000 + Certificate of Excellence.

• Best Researcher: Cash Prize of ₹15,000 + Certificate of Excellence.

• Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all registered participants.
