Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab is a national-level law university established by the State Legislature of Punjab through the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006.
The university is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and registered with the University Grants Commission (UGC). RGNUL offers integrated law programmes, LL.M. and Ph.D. programmes.
The Chair on Consumer Law (CCL), RGNUL, Punjab was established under the aegis of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India.
The Chair focuses on consumer law research, consumer education, consumer rights and remedies, particularly in the context of an increasingly digital marketplace.
The 1st RGNUL-CCL Short Video Making Competition 2026 is being organised by the Chair on Consumer Law, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.
The competition focuses on contemporary developments and emerging challenges in Consumer Law. Participants can explore issues relating to consumer rights, digital marketplaces, emerging technologies, advertising, food safety, fintech and contemporary consumer protection concerns.
The broad theme is Consumer Law. The organisers have provided indicative themes, but participants are also free to choose another topic falling within the ambit of Consumer Law.
The competition is open to individuals with a genuine interest in consumer law and policy, including:
Students from any academic level or discipline.
Researchers.
Professionals.
Representatives of NGOs and consumer forums.
Participants can submit their entries individually. Joint submissions are also permitted, with a maximum of 2 members per team.
The broad theme of the competition is Consumer Law.

Consumer Law Meets Competition Law: Rethinking Consumer Welfare
Influencers, Misleading Advertising & the Psychology of Consumer Choice
AI & Consumer Law: Rights, Risks and Accountability in the Algorithmic Age
Food Safety & Consumer Protection: The Regulatory Role of FSSAI
Greenwashing: Deceptive Sustainability Claims and the Rise of the Green Consumer

These themes are indicative and not mandatory. Participants may select any other topic within the field of Consumer Law.
Participants may submit a video individually.
A video may also be submitted jointly by a team of not more than 2 members.
Multiple entries by the same person are not permitted. A subsequent submission by the same participant, whether individually or jointly with another participant, will not be considered and may be disqualified.
The video must be no longer than 2 minutes.
The submitted video must constitute original content created by the participant(s).
Participants must ensure that their content does not infringe any third-party rights.
Submissions must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Participants must adhere to accessibility standards, including closed captions, audio descriptions and universal design principles.
Participants are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination to present their ideas.
Non-compliance with the prescribed requirements may result in rejection of the submission.

Creativity and Originality of Concept
Relevance to the Theme: Consumer Protection and Welfare
Technical Execution and Production Quality
Visual Appeal and Impact
The competition offers the following prizes:

The total cash prize pool is ₹10,000.
The winners will be felicitated during the National Consumer Rights Day 2026 celebrations organised by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, in New Delhi.
No registration fee is required to participate in the competition.
