About the Competition

Erode College of Law (ECL) is proud to announce the LEX PRUDENTIA 2026 – 2nd National Level Inter-College Moot Court Competition, organized under the aegis of the Moot Court Association. This prestigious competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing participants to experience both virtual and physical courtroom environments.

About Erode College of Law

Established in 2022, Erode College of Law (ECL) is a premier private law college in Tamil Nadu, affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University and recognized by the Bar Council of India. ECL emphasizes practical legal training through rigorous moot court exercises, legal aid activities, and court visits.

Moot Proposition & Themes

The case is set in the fictional Republic of Zhindiva (pari materia with India) and addresses contemporary, cutting-edge constitutional and technological issues, including:

• AI data center environmental impacts

• Copyright infringement in generative AI training

• User-generated deepfakes

• Informational privacy under Article 21 of the Constitution

Competition Format

• Online Rounds (Google Meet): Preliminary, Octa-Final, and Quarter-Final Rounds will be held virtually on September 12, 2026.

• Offline Rounds (ECL Moot Court Hall): Semi-Final and Final rounds will be held physically on September 23, 2026.

Prizes and Awards (Total Cash Prize: INR 48,000)

• Winning Team: Cash Prize of INR 18,000 + Trophy

• Runner-Up Team: Cash Prize of INR 10,000 + Trophy

• Best Male Speaker: Cash Prize of INR 5,000 + Trophy

• Best Female Speaker: Cash Prize of INR 5,000 + Trophy

• Best Memorial: Cash Prize of INR 5,000 + Trophy

• Best Researcher: Cash Prize of INR 5,000 + Trophy
