About the Organizer

Saveetha School of Law, a constituent institution of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), was established in 2009 with the objective of providing quality legal education and promoting excellence in legal research and professional training.

The institution is:

  • Recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

  • Approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

  • Accredited with NAAC A++ Grade.

The School is committed to nurturing competent legal professionals through academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, practical exposure, and professional training.

About the Competition

Jus Consilium – III Edition is a National Client Counselling Competition organised by Saveetha School of Law.

Unlike traditional moot court competitions, the event focuses on developing practical lawyering skills through simulated lawyer-client interactions. Participants will be assessed on their ability to:

  • Conduct effective client interviews.

  • Identify legal issues.

  • Analyse legal problems.

  • Communicate legal advice effectively.

  • Demonstrate ethical decision-making.

  • Exhibit professional responsibility.

  • Formulate practical legal solutions for clients.

The competition aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world legal practice by strengthening counselling and advisory skills.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Law Colleges

  • Law Schools

  • Universities

  • Departments of Law

All participating institutions must be recognised by the Bar Council of India.

Additional eligibility conditions:

  • Students pursuing an LL.B. programme, irrespective of the year of study, are eligible.

  • A maximum of five teams may participate from each institution.

  • Each team shall consist of two participants.

Themes

Competition problems may be based on any branch of law, including:

  • Criminal Law

  • Civil Law

  • Contract Law

  • Family Law

  • Surrogacy Law

  • Law of Succession

Registration Procedure

Participants must:

  1. Complete the official online registration form.

  2. Pay the prescribed registration fee.

  3. Registration will be confirmed only after successful verification of the registration details and payment.

  4. Team codes and further competition instructions will be communicated before the competition.

Registration Fee

  • ₹2,500 per team

  • The registration fee is non-refundable.

Best Professional Counsel - Trophy & Certificate

Total Cash Prize Pool: ₹10,000
