About the Organisers

The 2nd Peitho Cup 2026 is organised by the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, through the Debate and Literary Society of the Students' Bar Association (SBA) in collaboration with the Entertainment and Media Law Committee.

Debate and Literary Society

The Debate and Literary Society promotes:

  • Critical thinking

  • Public speaking

  • Advocacy

  • Intellectual discourse

  • Competitive debating

Entertainment and Media Law Committee

The Committee focuses on:

  • Entertainment Law

  • Media Law

  • Intellectual Property Law

  • Practical legal engagement

  • Student research initiatives

Together, both bodies aim to provide students with opportunities to strengthen advocacy, analytical reasoning, legal research, and communication skills.

About the Event

Peitho Cup 2026 is the second edition of the flagship Asian Parliamentary Debate Championship hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.

Apart from the debate competition, the event also includes "The Reporter's Showdown," allowing participants to compete in both debating and reporting formats.

The competition follows a hybrid format:

  • Preliminary rounds will be conducted online.

  • Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals will be conducted offline at the university campus.

The championship seeks to bring together students from across India to engage in:

  • Parliamentary debating

  • Persuasive advocacy

  • Critical reasoning

  • Public speaking

  • Competitive intellectual discourse

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • University students from across India.

  • Law students.

  • Non-law students.

A maximum of three teams may participate from each College, Institution, or University.

Registration Procedure

Participants must:

  1. Register using the official College Email ID or a recognised Student Association Email ID.

  2. Complete the registration fee payment through the CHRIST University Online Payment Portal.

  3. Preserve the payment receipt.

  4. Complete the official registration form and upload the payment details.

Registration Fee

Debate Team (4 Members – 3 Debaters + 1 Reporter)

  • Early Bird Registration: ₹3,300 per team

  • Regular Registration: ₹4,000 per team

Additional Charges for Teams Qualifying for Offline Rounds

  • Debate Team (3 Members): ₹2,500

  • Reporter: ₹850
