About the Organizer
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) was established in 2003 by the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society. The institute offers programmes including:

About the Competition
The 5th MAIMS National Mock Trial Competition, 2026 aims to provide law students with practical exposure to courtroom proceedings by strengthening their:
Trial advocacy
Courtroom advocacy
Legal research
Witness examination
Litigation strategy
Professional ethics
Analytical and communication skills
The competition follows a hybrid format, with:
Preliminary Rounds and Quarter-Finals conducted virtually.
Semi-Finals and Finals conducted offline at the MAIMS campus.
The competition simulates actual criminal trial proceedings, including:
Framing of arguments
Examination-in-chief
Cross-examination
Re-examination of witnesses
It is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real courtroom practice.

"Mental Health, Superstition and Criminal Liability"
Sub-theme:
Blind Faith and Psychological Vulnerability: Where Spiritual Belief Crosses the Line into Criminal Responsibility
The proposition explores:
Mental health
Psychological vulnerability
Superstition
Criminal responsibility
Grief-induced influence
Blind faith and legal liability
Eligibility
The competition is open to bona fide students pursuing:
3-Year LL.B.
5-Year Integrated LL.B.
Participants must be enrolled in institutions recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
Additional eligibility conditions:
Maximum 2 teams per institution.
Each team shall comprise 4 members:
2 Speakers
2 Researchers-cum-Witnesses
Both researchers will act as witnesses during the Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds.
Only one designated researcher may appear for the Researcher's Test.
During the Semi-Final and Final Rounds, witnesses will be provided by the Organising Committee.

Registration Procedure
Teams must:
Complete the official online registration form.
Nominate one primary contact person for all communications.
Pay the prescribed registration fee through NEFT/IMPS.
Upload the payment proof (UTR/Reference Number) along with the registration form.
Upon successful registration, each team will receive a unique Team Code, which must be used for all future correspondence.
Additional Guidelines:
Teams must not reveal the identity of their institution during the competition through clothing, logos, accessories, books, or badges.
Any change in team composition must be communicated via mocktrial@maims.ac.in along with a fresh registration form.
Registration and accommodation fees are non-refundable.
