About the Competition

The 1st National Memorial Drafting Competition, 2026 is organised to provide law students with an opportunity to strengthen their:

  • Legal research skills

  • Memorial drafting abilities

  • Legal writing

  • Analytical reasoning

The competition is conducted entirely in virtual mode and invites participation from undergraduate and postgraduate law students across India.

Participants are required to prepare and submit memorials for both the Petitioner and Respondent.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Undergraduate Law Students

    • 3-Year LL.B.

    • 5-Year Integrated Law Programmes

  • Postgraduate Law Students (LL.M.)

Team Composition

Participants may register as:

  • Individual Participant, or

  • Team of Two Members

Additional Guidelines:

  • Cross-institutional teams are permitted.

  • Memorials must be prepared and submitted for both Petitioner and Respondent sides.

Registration Procedure

Participants must:

  1. Complete the official online registration form.

  2. Pay the prescribed registration fee through the official payment portal:

    • General → Online Payments → 1st National Memorial Drafting Competition

  3. Submit the memorials via email before the submission deadline.
